Embracing Full-Time Writing: My Journey Begins

Been a while, which always seems the case whenever I update this blog.

My big news is I am redundant from my day job as of 1st September. I won’t bore you with the details, but I didn’t like the proposed restructure (nothing against it at all, it’s just not for me) and so applied for and was granted voluntary redundancy. The good news is that as of September I will be writing full time and trying to approach this job like a professional.

First part of being a professional? How about a new author photo, courtesy of Proheadshots (https://proheadshots.uk/)

I’ve always been self conscious in front of a camera, and even if Peter failed in my wife’s desire to make me look like Brad Pitt, I’m very happy with the results.

Even as I write that last sentence, imposter syndrome comes and has a little nip, then takes a big chunk. Am I good enough? Am I prolific enough? (spoiler: no!) Can I do this?

Well, no-one else can do it for me (despite what the AI shills and bullshit artists will try to tell you), so here we go. Buckle up, it’ll be a ride….
